    Throttle Position Sensor...

Update: So, after lots of knuckle busting and almost losing my sanity, it turns out that both the TPS and MAF sensor's went bad. I mean, what are the chances of that happening? I cross checked both original parts and both were bad. So with a new TPS and MAF installed, runs, shifts...

    Throttle Position Sensor...

Now I am getting another code P0102, MAF error for low input... grrr.. I am at a complete loss... I tested the MAF and the voltages were fine, all seems fine with the sensor... I don't understand what is going on... I did the idle adjustment as noted above as this is recommended after...

    Throttle Position Sensor...

I tested the new sensor and it was spot on perfect... The gradual progression to full open trottle was clean, no jumps in voltage... I really don't know what the hell is wrong... It idles great, smooth as its ever been... It just shifts like crap... Perhaps the MAF is dirty or...

    Throttle Position Sensor...

Unfortunately, I went to Autozone and got a Duralast part... they are really close to home and I had to use my wife's car so I didn't want to drive all around town... I double checked the part number online and it's the right one for my truck... I am tempted to order a Motorcraft part to...

    Throttle Position Sensor...

No codes, no CEL... I turned the sensor against the spring to make sure it was good. It starts up fine, idles great but shifts terrible... the exhaust smells really rich... I wonder if the sensor itself is bad? Perhaps it's a bum sensor? I reconnected the batter after over 20...

    Throttle Position Sensor...

So... my truck wouldn't start or start for a second and then shut off... pulled the code and got a TPS code... so I replaced the sensor.. tried to start but same thing... so I cleared the code and then it started right up... idled really rough for a few minutes but then seemed to level...

    High Mileage Survey...

Thought I'd see how many of us are still driving older Tracs and who's got the highest mileage ride??? I just clicked over 240,000 miles on my 01 Trac... hope to keep it another 4 years of I can!

    Price of Tracs

Actually, they are appreciating. And people are getting what they want for them too. Since Ford doesn't make then anymore and there isn't anything like it in the market, people who love/want them are willing to pay to get their hands on one. I have a 2001 with 240,000 miles on it. So I...

    Radiator replacement...

Well, I got a new radiator and I will be replacing it this evening. I have a 01, Gen 2 and from what I can see, the swap out isn't too bad. Any advice from those who have replaced it before?? Thanks guys!

    PCV valve problem...

Here's an update, I got some RVT sealant and cleaned, and cleaned and then cleaned again the valve and the area on the valve cover... I rolled a bead on the valve, pressed it in and then used to rolled up wash rags behind the valve to keep pressure against it. Left it that way all...

    Radiator replacement...

I thought about calling... but they list both 1" and 2" for the same model number so I didn't know if it was an option or something I needed to match exactly... I felt a bit confused by it... I might try to measure on my truck before ordering, I'd hate to order, tear it all down just find...

    Radiator replacement...

Hey guys... I have a leak in the radiator and need to replace it. I looked on rockauto.com and they have a handful to choose from. I am not sure what the difference between the reference to 1" or 2" Top & Bottom Radiator Channel.. I am familiar with 1 or 2 row... is the 2" just a...

    PCV valve problem...

Yeah, I was worried that replacing the cover would be necessary... boo... bad timing here at christmas and running low on funds... So you just "glued" the pcv valve in place? Damn, that's awesome... Any advice on sealing it or just follow the standard directions? Thanks a bunch...

    PCV valve problem...

Hey guys... I think I have an issue... while working on the truck, I noticed leakage around the pcv valve. And when I grabbed it, it was just flopping lose. So, I pulled the elbow loose and tried to install the valve.... and it just spins and spins... I have run my finger on the inside...

    Leaking transmission fluid

Ok guys, cut the line, fitting the new hose and double clamped it with no leaks! I actually had a funnel that worked perfect.... it was barely low though... just a little added... I was surprised but very little came out after cutting the line.... So far, it seems good... drove to...

    Leaking transmission fluid

Gotcha... well, I got a foot of hose and the section of hose off the filter you see there, is about 4-5 inches long so I can sleeve plenty of new hose onto the tube... I do have a flare tool but in a way, I think double clamping will be much faster and in the end, less problematic...
