Hello again everyone....some of you may remember me from years past (used to own a Blue 2004 and also a Black 2008 STA)

Well as much as I wodul like ot say I got myself into a 2010 AWD V8 STA....that just is not the case sadly!

However my mom is looking at a BEAUTIFUL 2009 Silver V8 4x4 Limited and I have a few questions.

I have been outta the Sport-Trac game for a bit but:

1. Is this a good deal $28k for a '09 loaded w/sunroof Limited 4x4, heated seats & 15,000 mi?

2. What are the best starter mods these days (used to be SCT tuner and TB) I got the intake covered

3. Have there been any recent service issues starting to pop up with the Tracs? (other than the trans thump)

Thanks in advance...

KBB search shows approx $32K retail. Like the color! As the Trac is out of production they're going to be harder to find, especially low-mileage cars in good shape. If I were in the market I'd tell the dealer "I have $26K to spend on this truck," and then shut up. If dealer balks, I'd make out a check to the dealer for $26K, tear it in half, write Name, Cell xxx-xxx-xxxx on the right half, hand it to the dealer and walk. They will call back - and when they do, $26K is the rolled-up price, not that plus tax, fees, etc. Good luck.

Sure you wont kick yourself for not looking at another STA -

Updates - Brenspeed now has a Roush style TVS blower that plops out less HP than the Saleen version -

NocturnalSTA ... FYI: there are [2] Red 2010 STA on E-bay Motors right now.

Another Question?

This Sport -Trac has reverse sensing system installed...was that a factory option!?

Just found out too that this trac is a "Certified Used Ford Vehicle" so it has the 7yr 100k mi warranty.

I have a silver '10 Limited 4x4 V-8. Mine has the reverse sensors- they look like these. In fact these picslooks exactly like my trac- including the Class III/IV hitch, backup sensors, tonnue cover, etc.

I only have 18k on mine. Runs great- it's a much better truck than my '03 Adrenline was. Handles better, tons of power, nice V-8 sound, transmission seems robust- no troubles. All in all, I cannot complain one bit. i just love the black interior-- it is so rich looking and sporty. I don't know what to tell you to look at-- I have not had any trouble areas with my trac at all.

I have been toying with the idea of selling my 'trac lately. Don't really want to, but since i ride my motorcycle to work most of the time, I am not using my 'trac much these days. it would be nice to get rid of the monthly payment, especially since my wife's job ended last month. I didn't realize it was holding its value so well. KBB says a private sale should go for $32,863 for mine.

Gavin, my brother-in-law has been looking for a nice low mileage Trac. Let me know if you decide to sell yours.

Dubbing around yesterday, on allofcraigs.com type in sport trac adrenalin, there was a blue 2009 i think for 32k. Claimed it had a new engine installed 200 miles ago by a ford dealership. I inquired why and asked some questions through email but have yet to get a response. Still curious on why the new motor!! Flood damage?ect??? Its a 2010, just looked it up again. There is a sweet red one which is a v8 with some pretty cool interior too.

Will do. I sure would miss it, but if my wife doesn't find a job in a few months I may be very interested. By then, it will be warmer and I'll be riding my bike again, so it might not be as painful, though.
