Vince, I wish my Trac was the same color as your's. I really like that Graphite paint (not sure what actual color code is but it's my favorite color on a Trac.

:eek:nline:

Rodger, I think your right. It's been quiet on here lately. So what do you think?

Painted or no?

i think people are waiting to see what they look like now.. :)

hard to make a decision, it might look ok as polished bars since your hubs are, but then it may be you want those to stand out on their own.. tough call..

I'll try and get out there tomorrow and hold them in place so you can see, might have to wait until Wednesday since tomorrow it's not gonna get above 22 degrees.

keep the black scheme going. The polished look will stand out of course but since they would stand out, they would make your Trac look like it sits closer to the ground. You can later mount some LEDs on the nerf bars or underneath the sideview mirrors (like the 01-03 Explorer Sports) and splice them to your interior dome power wire so when you open your doors or unlock them they will light up.

A few months ago when I owned two tracs. One of them was a 2005 dark stone (graphite) XLS which I loved the paint job on it. I ended up selling it for 9K because I couldn't afford to keep it. I kept my 01 due to the fact that I had more interior options and exterior options than the XLS

Satin black. If they are SS, you will need to bead or sandblast them. For the paint to stick and not peel.

More of a question than an answer, what about using a pint of the bedliner liquid that you can buy. Would look pretty cool textured and would be non slip. Would fit your theme good. Just a thought.

If you lived near me. I would bead blast them for you..

I have a small HF set up. Holds about 80 lbs of bead.

Gonna mount them and some rear clearence lights tomorrow since we're getting a heat wave (48 degrees). I'll see how they look polished and go from there.

Here you go Jerry, what it would look like painted for comparison:
