What was your first concert?

Mine (at least that I remember) was Presidents of the United States of America, I won tickets from the local radio station (89X in Detroit) when I was in 8th grade. My mom wouldn't let me go with a friend, so I asked if my Aunts boyfriend would could/would take me.. he did, now he's uncle but we are only about 6 years apart..

I took my 2 year olds to a Sublime concert, it was an outdoor venue at the local fair so it wasn't exactly a huge deal and I'm sure they won't remember, but I had a good time :supercool:

My first concert was Kansas. The Romantics were their warm up. Kansas was good, and the Romantics sucked.

Before that, I saw a group called, "The Exiles" at the Bluegrass Fair in Lexington, KY. My parents were big fans, and they used to listen to them in the lounge of the Eastland bowling alley. They had a song, "Kiss You All Over", that made it big. Later they changed their name to "Exile", and they were quite popular on the Country Music charts.

My most memorable concert was Journey. I watched it in Louisville Gardens with a friend who had won the tickets on the radio. Journey was lame, but their warm up was a new kid named Bryan Adams. He only had a few songs, but he gave a great concert. Sadly, when he got older, he stopped playing rock, and started singing sappy love songs.

My first concert was out doors in a German soccer stadium. Sommerfest 1980.. The best "I can remember" Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Kansas, Blackfoot, Blue Oyster Cult, Foriegner, Journey, REO Speedwagon and a few local bands between sets. Man what a longgggg day. :haveabeer::haveabeer::haveabeer::haveabeer::haveabeer:

Saw the Beatles at the San Francisco Cow Palace in 1963....They were ok, but I

liked Elvis better (and still do).

P.S. I was 28....and my first and last concert....unless you would want to count the

fiddlers convention in NC in 1980....it was a disaster.[Broken External Image]:

The Beach boys, Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City, NJ. Early 70's, 74-75?. Although gone now, Roosevelt Stadium was the last "wooden" stadium(baseball) that existed I think. Bob

Paul Revere & the Raiders....guessing about 1966 or 1967!

My first concert was in a club called the Inferno in Buffalo NY. Oddly enough I heard the Inferno burnt to the ground at some point.

There were two bands there that night. Some of you young guys won't recognize either. I still love both their signature sons.

Iron Butterfly - Innagoddadavida 17 min of pure psychedelic rock

Vanilla Fudge- You keep me hanging on.

There have I dated myself or what.

I have worked at numerous concerts since then with some of the greatest including The Stones, Rush, Triumph, Air Supply, Roger Whitaker, Olivia Newton John (she is drop dead gorgeous), The Eagles and many more but those two groups at that first concert are still very special to me.

Gerry Mac

july 1972 the rolling stones at MSG in NYC. :supercool:

the best part of this was that the tickets were thru a lottery. you send in postcards and they pick at random and mail you back if you won.

if you had the new "exile on main street" album it had postcards inside to use if you wanted. i didn't as you were able to use regular postcards as i didn't want to part with the one's in the album. now i just wish i had that album with the post cards
