I am going to buy one of these low end OBD II Code Readers and I would like to get some recommendations on which one to go with. They are both about the same price w/FREE shipping.

Go with the one with the most functionality. Neither one of the above can be used while driving though; while the ScanGuage can be used while driving - See Below.

SCANGUAGE offers superior functionality.

TRIP COMPUTER

Automatically tracks four sets of trip data - Each with 11 individually stored parameters.

DIGITAL GAUGES

Display 4 gauges at a time from the 12 built-in digital gauges

SCAN TOOL

Troubleshoot your own car and turn off the Check Engine light.

Since you've already upgrade the exhaust and throttle body, why not just get an Xcal 3 w/tunes from Torrie? You'll get new tunes and the ability to read codes.

TrainTrac, I have not upgraded my exhaust, it's on my 'What's next list'.... but I'm not sure that I will ever actually do it. I'm not trying to create a money pit, already have several other toys that I would rather spend the money on (ie. Honda CBR1000RR, C5 Corvette). If the Xcal could hold tunes for the Vette and ST it would be feasible but since it does not it's not worth it to me at this point. I have been wanting a Code Reader because I service all 4 of our vehicles myself so I might spring for the ScanGauge. :)

For something that is available for a variety of cars. The code reader you posted is a very good price for its functions. I paid that much for one that only reads the code#. No other extra functions. I would go for it.

Understood. I read through your profile too quickly, and didn't see the exhaust as a "future" mod. I understand your reasoning now.:D Looks like the ScanGauge II is the way to go. Plus, you get a lot more features with it for the $$$ that can be utilized on multiple vehicles.
