I have a Wii and a Hi Def tv. I am currently using the standard supplied video cable. It puts out 480i resolution. I see in the owners manual that I can purchase a component video cable that will allow the Wii to put out 480p resolution. Does anyone have the 480p component cable? Will I see any difference between 480i and 480p with my Wii?

I found the cable on Ebay for $7.00 total. Didn't realize they were so inexpensive. Went ahead and purchased just because of the good deal.

I do not have an HDTV, but am considering getting one. I have a Wii. Is 480 the best resolution that the Wii can do? I havn't needed to go higher so I havn't explored it.

Thanks.

Yes 480p for the Wii is it. I must admit I was disappointed when I heard this as well. With all the talk about PS3 and Blu Ray and the other great consoles something as revolutionary as Wii puts out the same video picture as my original Atari.

Wii component cable = a waste of money IMHO. I could tell little, if any difference, when we moved from the composite output. I am running a 47" LG 1080p LCD. It might be noticable on a different TV, but my XBOX at 480i looks better.

480p is as good as it's getting from the Wii.
