Looking for 5-6 small power inverters for our company cars. We are only going to be using laptop chargers, cell phone chargers, and possible flash light charger or small fan...

WE have the cigarette lighter ones and some of the cars have nothing but problems with them...

So we are going hard wired. I don't care if we need to cut off the cigarette plug and run wire, but I saw one linked below....

Any one have any thing else they can think of ???

Thanks

Todd Z

If you're going to hardwire it, put in a 400 or 500 watt one. That way they can run several things at once. You'll have to run wires all the way to the battery, though, since the lighter normally only has a 20 amp fuse.

I have a 400 watt I got at Fry's a couple of years ago. I've run my laptop and inkjet printer off of it when the building power went down for several hours. Mine isn't wired in, but I have clips for the battery terminals that work ok.

I've got a little cigarette lighter one that's 175W and 2 400W bigger ones.

My little cigarette lighter one is great, though. Maybe y'all got a bad brand?

I've got a few cig lighter ones. 2 75watt, 1 150watt, and then a few that run off the cables for my amp at 400watts and 800watts. I can run power tools, blenders, tvs, etc, lol.

I use an APC auto-air charger that is 150W. It works great and is a life saver at the track for charging the camera and laptop, plus is good for the airpump for my air mattress. When I camp though, I use a 350W APC inverter.

We had just picked one up on sale durring our road trip from the Pilot Gas truck stop.

500watt for $19.95

We lost our 12 volt cord and had only 120 cord to our DVD player for the kids.

SAM's Club sells a 400W for $25

Here's a deal on a larger one from the company that made my little one. They're extremely highly praised, and I've had NO issues with mine.

Sams club has an online auction and they always have a two pack of inverters on. I bought a two pack for I think $15.00 and we run a laptop on it a lot. The one I bought was a cigar lighter type that hinges in the middle.
