Now that I won't be buying shoes for the Trac I would like to know what my options are for an in dash GPS. I will be replacing the 6 disk changer in my 2005 Adrenalin. I only need a single disk cd player and a regular FM radio. I assume that an audio installer could install one of these. Anybody know what the price would be?

Thanks a lot.

i would suggest going with the AVIC-Z1 as it has the new smart nav function built in. along with a bunch of other features. out of all the units ive installed this by far takes the cake (accept price)

I paid $1350 from my AVIC Z1 shipped. It was cheaper than the AVIC N1 I had in my '01 and has way more features on it. The Z1 has a single disc player, but it automatically burns CD's to the built in hard drive. Pretty cool stuff!

Edit- Forgot to post the link of where I got it from... The price fluctuates quite often, but I have bought lots of stuff from them and never had an issue--even with warranty repairs to Pioneer.

I just bought a Pioneer AVIC-D2 for the Escalade, and Pioneer's got a promo right now where you also get a smaller AVIC 51 GPS only unit as a bonus. (So the GPS will go in the Trac.) I didn't need all the bells & whistles that the Z1 had, so the D2 was fine... I also replaced the factory 6 disc with the 'upgraded' Pioneer 6 disc changer that also plays DVD's. So far, I liike it a lot! The 'new' system sounds a LOT better than the factory Bose system that was in there. I guess next will be video screens in back for the dogs...
