I just purchased my first 2008 ST. I had been looking for a decently priced 4 door truck for a while and finally came across one. I needed the room in the back for my kids car seats. So far it's been great. I'm excited to customize it and make it my own.
So far I've not done too much besides cleaning and learning all about them. Thanks everyone for all your knowledge.

Some future plans:
  • New 6x8 speakers, double din head unit
  • Lift or Leveling Kit - I'd like at least 3"
  • 20" Wheels/Tires - more of the offroad style with all terrain tires
  • Replace suspension components as needed
  • 3rd brake light
  • Black Grill
  • Basic Brush Guard
  • Smoked out headlights / taillights
  • Herculiner truck bed
  • Paint exterior trim pieces
  • Seat Covers, Floor Mats
  • And so much more....

Welcome to the SportTrac forum!
Before your V6~4.0L~SOHC Engine & 5r55 Tranny bites you in the butt,
may want to be pro-active about the more notorious trouble items:
~ PlasticThermostatHousing,
~ OilPressureSenderSwitch,
~ OilPressurizedTimingTensioners,
~ PlasticRadiatorTanks,
~ TransmissionValveBody,
~ TransmissionShiftLeverOverDriveSwitch,...
Lots of expertise\help available on these & much more in this forum & others.

Thank You, That is very much appreciated!

Install the 16lb rad cap from a 98 mustang v6, I sell the aluminum t stat housings,
As for the lift 3" will require $800 upper control arms from BTF. 2.5 is "ok" of you only do normal road driving and that gets questionable.
The trucks are not designed for off road with lifts.
Welcome and good luck with it !!

Thank you for that info. Sounds like 2.5" it is then. Yes it'll be for normal road driving. I'll check out your t stat housings too.

Welcome to Sport Trac addicts web site. :)
Custom parts for our Trac's are getting rare. You having the Gen2 may have better luck, than us with the gen1.
I bet you caught h__LL being born on April fool day.:p:eek::)
Good luck with one of the best sport trucks, ever made. I have owned my 2004 when new. I intend to drive it until no repair parts are available. Addicted to it, LOL...:D

Thanks!
Being born on April fools is a never ending barrel of jokes.
Upgrades and improvements are addicting for sure!
I’ve learned quite a bit from all the info in here.
