Engine Misfire

I've been getting codes showing an engine misfire on cylinders 2 & 6. It's only noticeable when I'm accelerating, when I'm about 40 mph-50mph it levels out. But if I try to get up to 60, it starts to shake.

I'm pretty handy, but I don't have a scope or anything really fancy. Any thoughts on how to address it? I figured I could just swap spark plugs, but if it's more than that, I'm not sure where to go to next.

2007 Gen2 with a V6

I'm no mechanic but, try the easy stuff first. Clean mass air flow sensor or unhook the battery for 10min. to reset the computers. Have you tried a fuel system cleaner? sea foam or Lucas.

I didn't consider the battery, I'll try that tonight.
Mass Airflow & the idle control valve are both on the list to clean tomorrow!
I'm about halfway through a tank of gas that has a can of seafoam in it. I tried that first.

Spark plug wires. Also Look inside each plug wire connection on the coil. I had a #3 miss-fire some years ago. I had to use my dremell with a brush and clean out some corrosion. Contacts are aluminum. Wash out with contact cleaner.

Plugs & Wires fixed it! The project on plugs was very helpful. Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

I'll note for anyone who hasn't done this job, you'll need to take the as alternator off to get the wires for 1/2/3 out.

Ed, the computer reset didn't help, but I did take a moment to clean the mass airflow sensor while I was at it. Thanks for taking the time to help!

I have seen people be adamant about saying their wires are "good".... How did you check? ohms?? most people have no clue how to test...

I have sets of wires here with 20K miles on them with OPENS and failures...…..

Preventative and regular maintenance is a REAL THING !!!

Todd, I figured if I'm doing plugs, I might as well do wires. I didn't do any checks, but the plug on #6 came out in 2 pieces. the metal electrode separated from the ceramic, and came out with the wire. So I was pretty confident when I saw that, I was getting at the real issue.

I've got a basic multi meter, if you're suggesting I check/test the new plugs/wires, I'm all ears. Is there a project that'd help guide me?
