Aloha Folks,

The original stereo/cd radio unit in my truck works fine but I can't see the station numbers where searching or other instructions. Is this an easy fix, meaning changing out some light bulbs?
Question: if it is just replacing some light bulbs, how do you take out the unit from the dash? Is there a special tool?

Question #2: If this is not about the bulbs and it is an LCD panel that has gone out, do you recommend getting another stock unit, if not what brands work well with our truck's system?

Thank you very much. Mahalo!

push on the screen, it will light back up.....Normally..... LOL..... there is a fix online requiring you re soldering something.... if not, a factory radio is cheep...

There are some OEM head unit re-builders around. They do an exchange system.
I have one about 10 miles from me in the Houston area.
I can look the m up if you want.

Aloha Eddie- that would be great, so they send out a factor refurbished one to you and I send them my old one? Thanks again. Mahalo!

DaBoss, I'm searching for the one in my area. The link I had is a broken link. I m finding others around the country. Plus some places that want to sell you the parts and tools.
I m partial to find this one again, if they are still in business. It was recommended to me by a Ford repair service for head units. At that time they were the ones that contracted to the, Houston area Ford and Honda dealers. Doing repairs and swaps. Plus they had a store front, for walk-ins.'
When we were buying a Ford Escape. My wife at that time wanted the upgrade head unit. No charge the dealer upgraded the unit, wires amps and speakers to make the sale. They did a good job.

Aloha Folks, I believe this is the unit I currently have. Just curious, could I upgrade to the 6 cd player or do I have to stay with this one? I will also check to see if I have a subwoofer in the panel behind the rear seat area. Thank you as always for your help. Mahalo!

the adrenalin 6disc will.... Check ebay for the unit that says MP3 above the 6 disc and your good to go. you can get the radio from the F150, explorer, Lincoln and edge all work. BUT make sure it has the options your truck has for sync and back up and stuff or it will not work !!

I was having the same thing. Could not see the instructions to set up Bluetooth and stream from my phone. Luckily my daughter remembered the sequence ( way too many of steps) to go it.
read on you tube that I could fix it by pulling out the unit and touching up the solder on the contacts. Did that and now lights are perfect. Found a junk radio first to practice my soldering. Only took an hour but a lot of prep.
