So my truck ownership experience started back in 1996 with a new '96 Ranger, which I then traded for a '99 Ranger three years later. After my son was born in 2000, I quickly realized that the Ranger's jump seats were too small for a car seat. That's when I discovered the Sport Trac. I bought a new 2002 Trac, had it for a couple of years, then traded it for a 2004 Sport Trac Adrenalin. That Trac served me well for nine years, functioning as a family vehicle, and even towing a 23' travel trailer from VA to IL in 2006. I sold the '04 in 2013, and was out of Tracs for a couple of years. Then, in 2015 I bought my #2010WhiteSuedeLimited4x2V8. I had a lot of fun with that truck over the last 4.5 years, taking it from bone stock to an altogether different look. But, once again, the needs of my family have necessitated moving on to something else. My son is now 19, and a still growing adult. He has severe special needs, and will probably always live with us, so it was time to find something with a roomy, comfortable back seat for him now and in the future. So last Friday, I traded the '10 Trac in for a 2014 F150 Lariat 4x4 w/3.5 EcoBoost V6. It was bittersweet seeing the Trac go, but I know it was the right thing to do. I'm excited about the F150, and can't wait to start playing with/modding it. I've already got a mod list a mile long! The Sport Trac community is a great group of folks, always willing to help each other out with advice and friendship. It's been fun being part of this community for the last 18 years.
