Does anyone know what this small connector is dangling from the headliner next to the mirror? This is for a 2010 Limited I bought earlier this week. Dash cam maybe?

It doesn't appear to be for the mirror. It has a braided wrap around it. I'd rather not pull the headliner to find out where it goes.

p.s. Any chance it’s for the microphone for Sync handsfree? I haven’t been able to get voice commands working yet and haven’t had much time to find the mic and troubleshoot.

The mirror appears to have its cable, and it doesn’t look like this one would fit in the small black conduit for the mirror anyway.

After some internet sleuthing, I suspect the rear view mirror was swapped for one without the Sync microphone.

I found the part number for the mirror, but it’s a bit expensive. I think there was a TSB in 2009 to disconnect the mirror microphone and replace it with a standalone microphone that was installed in the headliner. I’m going to see if I can locate one of those because they’re cheaper than replacing the mirror.
