Greetings! Please some one explain about Stability control and AWD. Many cars come with both. Any one knows about specification of 2009 ST? Will ST have both? With thanks.

AWD simply means that all 4 wheels are powered, and has nothing to do with stability control.

Stability control consistes of sensors and ABS systems that monitors the attitude of the vehicle and can determine if the vehicle is out of control or possibly getting ready to tip over. The sensors determin the speed and lean of the vehicle and will apply the brakes to one or more wheels to try to correct the instability. Some vehicles even do more to include traction control, and will even tighten seat belts when it feels that a crash may be about to occurr.

07-10 Sport Tracs are not AWD in the sense that all four wheels get power all the time. They are rear wheel drive unless the computer detects wheelspin and then it sends power to the front axle. If you lock it in 4-Hi or 4-Low then it stays in 4WD. The stability control either automatically applies the brake to a wheel that is losing traction and if that's not enough then it will cut the engine's power. Frankly I don't like the way it jerks me around and when driving in a lot of snow I usually lock it in 4-Hi and turn the traction control off.

Yeah I have an 07 .Those jerks can get on a persons nerves . Some jerk invented that LOL.

Its sad how other manufactures mastered the AWD and part time working smooth, Ford still allows it to bang, piss off the owner, work like crap and limit you what you can do with the truck....
