So I have a slow radiator leak that gets worse when running the AC. I will eventually have to replace it and wanted to know if anyone knows of a source for a better quality all metal radiator that will fit out trucks. Seems a waste of time and money to just replace it with the same junk that is in there now.

I havent found any custom rads for our Tracs. As far as I know we are stuck with the OEM design, from all maufactors. Maybe with some measrurements, and $$$$$$$$ you might get a custom built. Or get one of the custom makers to come close enough for you to mod some brackets.
I also wanted a solid aluminum for my 2004, with 2 row cores. No luck....
Im not leaking, but I need a new fan clutch. My fan clutch has the same resistance when hot as when cold. So I have over heated with AC on and idling for a long time. Thinking on buying a fan clutch tomorow. My Gen1 is thermal binding clutch. The Gen2 has a electric clutch controled by the ecu.

Mine cracked at 75k, Ford replaced on extended warranty. Between the known problems with the radiators and thermostat housings, it's worth it to swap to the lower pressure 16 lb radiator cap from a 1998-2000 V6 Mustang. 20 lb cap is standard on Gen 2.

I replaced mine with a FORD replacement unit and then added the 16 lb cap. I figure since it took 11 years for the original one to leak, by the time it leaks again It won't matter too much since I'll be almost 80 YO!

GEN 2 NO.... Gen 1 the one on line is great.....
Replace the rad with a Spectra premium one and use a 98 mustang v6 16 PSI rad cap.... the gen 2 comes with a 20 lb cap and that's just BS !! causes the tanks to crack !!!
