It's been about 6 years since I installed the EE rear sway bar on my 05 Trac. The bushings for the 1 1/8" bar are shot.

I need to order new ones and I was hoping it was possible to find greasable bushings. Has anyone ever replaced these and knows a part number? Or should I just see if explorer express has new ones for me

Phil, I have made some greasable. If your brackets are drilled and taped. Drill a hole in the bushing to match. Then use a dremel tool to cut a chanel inside, so the grease can disperse.
I made my own tapped brackets and greasable bushings, for my EE rear bar.

Okay thanks Eddie. I did consider doing that way back but I guess never got around to it. Had I, they probably wouldn't be shot right now because the fronts which are greasable have no play.

I guess what I really wanted to know is what is the part number for the bushings themselves. I've scoured the forums and it seems nobody has ever really had to replace them

I believe a dodge Durango part number is the right one.... been a while since I looked that up. Can you call EE..

Interesting. I'll have to check that out. I did try to call them twice yesterday. It just beeped as if the number is dead. I also emailed them. I'm starting to wonder if EE is defunct.

Sadly they may be out of business. Then just buy the universal energy suspension poly urethane in the right size and be done with it.

Yeah I think they are out of business. No response to email, phone line dead. It's too bad really, they could have been making mods for the newer Ex's as there are plenty of them on the road.

Todd, I had originally purchased Energy Suspension 9.5164R. Sadly the bracket was too small for the diff. So I guess the only option to use that would be to fabricate a bracket. I didn't want to go that route.

Steve, thank you so much for your help. As soon as I read your post it twigged something in my brain. I had 2 sway bar bushings left over from prothane kit 61132. The link you sent me to the ES website has that cross referenced with 4.5153.

I went out and bought a 3/4" wooden dowel and put it inside the stock sized bushing. Center punched it and used a 1 1/8" core drilling bit to expand the poly bushings.

This worked mint, I installed them and now my truck is back to handling well

Thanks for your help guys. I didn't realize this was my only option

Hello out there. I found out today that Energy Suspension IS out of business.
I am looking around for a rear EE sway bar set up complete with urethane bushings... anyone have one for sale?
My rig is a ‘04 sport trac XLT 4x4.
Thank you.

^ You mean Explorer Express. Energy Suspension is alive and very well.

EE has been out of business for YEARS. Once in a great while a used "X-Spec" rear sway bar pops up for sale. Good luck.

The ES brackets can be drilled larger to fit....

Stock rear sway bar frame bracket on top. ES universal bracket on bottom. Washer outlines on stock bracket show center to center bolt distance. Note- ES bracket was used on front sway bar with added grease fittings. Removed because the stock brackets were heavier gauge metal and much stronger. Grease fittings also added to stock front brackets. (Not shown)

There is a larger bracket.... I think its a dodge Durango or something that works.... sadly I threw out all that stuff...
