Last fall I was ready to trade it in as I had owned it since 2010. I looked at all the possible replacements out there and didn't really like any of them as much. Only the Raptor was exciting, but it's too big and too off-road focused for my flat little island of Key West. My two other cars are yellow, so I decided to repaint the ST, have a "new" truck and wait a few more years. The repaint took 2 months as they just about disassembled the entire truck and did it right. The color is Corvette Millennium Yellow and I love it.

Sweet !! other then the GM color, lol JK. But great work and keep it up..... did you do the inner fenders and under the hood as well? Under the door panels and everything?? im asking as there is a common rot issue on the Gen2 and I curious if you found either one of them during the process...

I went to see the progress after it was in the shop for 2 weeks and actually did not recognize the car. They had pulled off the bed, doors and door panels, hood and hood liner, bumpers, side steps and fenders. I found the grille, bed cap/rails/cleats, fender "scoops", fuel filler liner, mirror trim, door strikers and locks, head, tail and fog lights and other trim parts on a separate parts rack. It was impressive, they offered to pull the windshield but said there was a very high risk of cracking it so I declined. No rot found anywhere, but car has been in Florida its entire life. Soon after I got it back, I was pulled over for speeding and the officer said my car was registered as red. I said it was repainted and he said "show me". I spent a few minutes looking at the body to find red and failed. Finally opened the hood and found that the lazy bastards hadn't painted the firewall lol. I wanted a Ford color, having had a Zinc Yellow ST and a yellow 2004 F-150 Tuscany, but the Corvette color is brighter.

It does look great !! ok thanks !! Welcome and enjoy..

Look as if they did it right to change the color. The fire wall may look odd, against yellow. Maybe with caeful masking, removal of some items and cleaning. You could do a rattle can in black. That would go with the grill and other items, against the yellow. I agree you chose a good yellow color. I have seen it on 'vettes.
Odd thing is I never had a cop say show me when I did a color change. If they even asked they accepted my answer. They seemed to be satisfied with the fact, the vin and tag came back as the type of car I owned. I hope he wasnt just being an ass. You cant change the vin but, Does FL have a way to change color ID with DPM?
