2010 Adrenalin V8 Spark Plug change

Guys...have read thru all threads re. plugs and want to get the latest help with updated info.
Plan to change out in spring and want to buy necessary tools/parts.
Some questions so far..
1.which plugs are best ? Motorcraft/Autolite ? 1pc/2pc ?
2. does this model/yr have the plug breaking problem?
3. is the Lisle broken plug removal tool necessary ? ( or the Ford removal tool that prevents breaking ?) and if so, are these tools avail for 'FREE LOANER" at Napa etc.
An updated tutorial would be great or any general info that has helped you in doing this job.
Also suggestions on coil/wires and where to buy.

1. Either brand will work.
2. You always run the risk of breaking a plug if you rush the job, and if they’re super-tight. Soak the hell of them with PB Blaster before attempting to break them loose. A telescoping magnet is also handy for removing the old plugs and inserting the new ones.
3. You don’t need the special tool. Ford stopped using the two-piece plugs in 2009.

There are a bunch of tutorial videos on YouTube. Just take your time, and you shouldn’t have any problems.

You should have no worries. The head design was changed by Ford in mid 2007. Early 2007s has the two piece plugs and late 2007s have the new head hense new plug design you should have brown coil packs so in a 2010 you are safe. you can buy whatever plug you want. I replaced mine with Motorcraft. I don't recall what the part number was but it is year specific so the part store will get you the correct plug.
If you have a set of spark plug sockets you are all set. Spark plug sockets have rubber in them to hold the plug in place while extracting the plug and reinserting the plug.
You'll just take off the coil pack and pull the plug.
You will need to have some kind of compressed air to blow out the spark plug hole before you pull the plug. They will collect all kinds of crud down in there.
I unplugged the fuel injectors for a little more working room. Just do what you need to, to make what room you will need to do the job.

Don't be afraid of this job. It really is no big deal and no more difficult than changing any plug. You did say 2010 didn't you?

I was just reading about the Lisle tool . There are 3 different ones and they are marked with lines in the black extractor . The one with one and two lines are known to break at the tip .The one with three lines is the newest and the best . Check out Makuloco the Ford tech .He has a video on this subject and what to do when the tool breaks .
