I have a 2003 sport trac my a/c blower works on low 2nd 4th but 3rd is the same as 2nd. I have replaced the resister and the switch and also done all the suggested testing procedures and still same speed on 2nd and 3rd... please help

THe Plug pigtail needs to be replaced....... Take out washer fluid and coolant bottle, Cut off old plug, Solder on new one.....

Done about 4 of these on gen 1 sts.... SAME thing..

Had a similar problem on my '01 Explorer. I first replaced the resistor and then the pigtail and it still remained the same with problems with the fan speeds. I also changed the relay under the air cleaner and changed the inside heater control switch under the radio. It was the fan motor itself that wouldn't spin freely and was dragging and making it draw extra current and quickly burning out the new fan motor resistor. Just take the fan motor out of the engine compartment and spin it by hand to see if it's dragging. Then recheck the resistor (I made the wrong assumption the resistor couldn't be burnt out since I had just replaced it) to make sure it's not burnt out again by the dragging fan motor. Good Luck!

Is this true for second gen St as well? I have no fan in the first or second settings, some fan in the third, and the fourth position runs like it has always.

There is a project on changing it on the Gen 2.... Its easy and cheep, I would start there...
