Hi All

Then interior light in my 2007 truck stays on. If I push on the key in the ignition the light will go off but comes back on released. A good bump in the road or a push on the key with my right knee will also turn the light on while driving. How hard and what parts do I need to fix this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Don't have a clue as to what you are saying?? I thought they spoke English in Canada.

Sounds like your ignition switch is failing. I had this same problem with my 2007. Bump and the lights would go on as if I just started the truck. Once the truck actually shut off while on the highway.

I had the dealer do it but I remember a few threads on this. I learned more about it after I had the work done or I would have tired it my self.

Not a big deal.

Good luck

No, mostly French, Chinese, Filipino and Polish.

Let me try again for you who cannot read chinglish.

It the steering column, were the key goes in, (you still with me?) there is a connection that gets made to turn on the interior light when you put the key in and turn it. Ok so far? The interior light is supposed to go off, based on a timer or moving the transmission out of park. However, that connection is faulty and a bump in the road will cause the switch , still in the steering column, to allow the interior light to come on. Wiggling the key (used to open the doors and start the truck) will turn the interior light off.

Sometimes when starting the truck, the interior light will not go off and pushing on the key will make a contact in the switch still in the afformentioned steering column and allow the interior light to go off but...releasing pressure on the key will allow the switch to make and the light comes back on. Got it?

So what parts, do I need and how hard is it to fix?

thanks for your reply. Most helpful. A little to cold to take it apart today. Im tired of supporting my local service guy for overpriced stuff I can do myself.

Stephen,

Thanks for your excellent Chinglish translation, however I do not speak or read Chinglish and Google translate was no help, so I cannot be of any help to you....sorry.

My guess would be similar to what others have stated....your ignition switch has gone Chinglish and not communicating with the interior light. :haveabeer:
