this kit will work on the 4.6 3v st's only thing we do differnt is our hoses for intercooler and how we mount the intercooler. visit departmentofboost.com to read all about the set up

Any references for installations on Explorers or ST's?

Will the fuel system upgrades (pumps, etc.) work on an Explorer?

Do all of the mounting brackets work on an Explorer?

Is the supercharger drive belt the correct length to work with Explorer accessories like the alternator, power steering pump, AC compressor, etc.?

What issues would we have with mounting a Mustang CAI? For example, does the battery have to be relocated since the Mustang CAI is on the opposite side?

What kind of power could you expect on an Explorer with stock exhaust manifolds? As far as I know there are still no headers designed to fit our trucks.

Are there any issues with getting a tune that will work with our 6-speed auto?

i will likely be the first to do this kit on the explorer. the fuel system will work on the explorer. brackets will work but mounting the intercooler will be different for us. as far as i can tell the belt will work bit if not that is a simple fix. we will need to relocate yhe battery to the right side which isnt a big deal. with a 100% stock explorer you can well exceed the limits of the internals i have seen this kit put down close to 600hp on a stock bore forged block that was completely stock otherwise. the m122 blower will get us in the low to.mid 600rwhp and the 13-14 tvs can push us into the 7s. the also have the spec r kit if 700s isnt enough lol. with that manifold you can bolt on a 4.0 blower which unless its a full blown racer way to much. also i have talked to lito who is who they mention that does their tunes. he has tuned blowers on explorers and he said the tranny is no issue for a tune. yes he does remote tune bit i have seen some tunes he has done and they kill dyno tunes.

with a 100% stock explorer you can well exceed the limits of the internals

Said in the post above,,,,,A little clarification please.

What exactly does that statement mean.

Are you saying you can exceed the internal components and blow up your engine

or

the stock explorer has internals that can handle 600+HP

the stock internals can handle about 450 rwhp give or take safely you can go up to around 500 but you are pushing the limits. this kit on a otherwise stock explorer can put out 600+ with a smaller pulley. remember i am talking power to the wheels here and the 450 is safe for a 2wd less drive train loss. a 4x4 or awd i would say the safe level is around 400. you can go higher but if you do i would recommend e85 to reduce chance of detenation and realy trust your tuner. i know one of our memebers here is at 508 to the wheels awd but he is running e85.
