Ok, I'm not loosing my mind I don't think. I cleaned the inside of my windshield with a mixture of 1 cup distilled white vinegar, 2 pints of distilled water and a couple of drops of Dawn dish detergent. Upon finishing, I decided to also clean my dash surfaces. Luckily I only did the top panel on the passenger side and while wiping down with the mixture on a paper towel the towel stuck to the dash. After scraping the stuck parts of the paper towel off the dash with my finger nail I put my hand on the surface and the entire surface was very tacky. Does anyone have any idea what could have happened. That mixture is supposed to be about the safest cleaner there is. Any thoughts on a remedy?

Thanks,

Jim:bwahaha:

Sounds like the homemade cleaner dissolved some clear coating on the dash cover. Perhaps it's a coating of Armour-All or some other vinyl protectant product. I noticed that if I use a vinyl protectant on the top edge of my door panels where I rest my arm...it will get sticky over time. Now I use a thin black or grey mouse-pad tucked into the drivers-side window an drape it over the door panel where I put my arm....works like a charm...and the mouse-pad gives a little more cushion to prevent irritation on my arm during long drives.

Thanks Rich, sounds good. I just hope I can find something to put on it to remove or coverup the stickiness so everything that touches it won't stick to it.
