Are the airbags standard in the 2nd gen seats? I can't recall if it was a option to get the side impact bags and curtain bags when I was checking the boxes on my order form. If it has the bags in the seats you might look at removing them before installing. If you post up the first gen measurements I'll go and measure my second gen seats to see if they'll fit. When I sold my '01 Trac when I placed the order for my '07 I never even test drove the 2nd gen. When my order came in I remember noticing the 2nd gen seemed roomier inside. Might just be the wider center console though adding the feel. Seats might be the same width.
