Well, after 14 years and 263,000 miles, the Trac has met it's maker. My son's GF used my Trac as a can opener, it will most likely be totaled. It is fixable, but the Trac is tired. Frame is OK, alignment is off, inner fender is bent, rad support is balled up. The car she hit didn't fare so well. I thought it was a Prius, but upon closer examination, it was an Altima. Nobody was hurt, which is the important thing. I found the blue F-150 a few weeks ago before the accident

Ouch...but it is fixable.:grin::grin:

My late wife wrecked my 2001 Sport Trac to the tune of about $3800. It was only about 4 months old, but your damage looks a little worse than mine. They had to replace the bumper, and drivers side fender and headlight. The hood had a small ding in it and was repaired rather than replaced. The surpirse was the radiator support which is fiberglass and was cracked. It cost almost $500...then they had to repaint the drivers door to blend the paint. My insurance initially balked at that, but the shop was able to convince them that it was necessary, and they eventually agreed.

If everything else is good on your Sport Trac...and financially they give you enough money, you might consider keeping the old Sport Trac, getting it fixed and selling it or trading it in. I did that once with my daughters old 1986 Ford Tempo...and she came out $$$ ahead. They paid her almost equal to what she paid for it used and drove for over 2 years (40K miles),. When she traded it in without making any repairs she got another $1300 towards her new Hyundai.

Book value is $2100.00. It'll be totaled. I offered it to my kid to fix, it he wants. The rear end is whining and shudders on turn. Time for new. V8 tracs are rare up here..

Sorry to hear about the ST, but I do love the color of the new F-150. That's my color of choice when I get a new (to me) F-150 in a few years.

The dropped the trac off n the driveway yesterday. Started right up, I was going to turn it around so the ugly part faces the house, apparently something real important that connects the steering wheel to the tie rod end is broke. Wheel just spins. Took a bar to move wheels by hand and the rack is broken internally... Jeesh!
