Ended my hunting season this morning. I guess now I can finally install that last window...

More loft progress photos. Next step will be handrails around the perimeter.

My, my ! You have been a busy beaver !

So how much will you be charging for Rent on a Loft Condo? I might want to move in..:bwahaha:

Really good carpentry work :supercool: What kind of work did you do before you retired?

...Rich

Rich, I was a technical designer with very limited carpentry experience. The last ten years were spent as a supervisor of a design group. The company I worked for builds and services boilers mainly for the electric utility and paper industries.

I have 3D modeling software on my home computer. It's amazing what you can design. Here's a snapshot of the model I created of the building. Some of the layers, like the siding, are turned off so you can see the metal framework and the finished loft. I also removed a little of the loft plywood so you can see some of the wood framing.

Every piece of the building including all of the wood framing for the office and loft is included in this model. When I wanted to build each section of the loft I would break that section out, add dimensions, print it and start sawing.

Here are some pics of the loft in a little more finished state. Unfortunately I had to delete some of the older pics to make space in my library for the newer ones.

Thanks. The Ranchero is the one I have had the longest. I did quite a bit of work on it before it got interrupted by several other projects including the Mach 1. So far I have installed a Mustang II front suspension with rack & pinion steering and a narrowed Ford 9" rear axle. It rides on coil-overs all around. I also fabricated new rear frame rails from 2x4 square tubing. The engine is a 466 ci bigblock with a C6 auto trans. The front fenders and teardrop hood are fiberglass. I still need to install a new wiring harness and finish the bodywork and interior.

Here's a couple of pics of the engine bay:

blksn8k,

Is that building in Ohio or PA? We need to get together sometime if you are still in Ohio. I live behind the New Franklin Fire Department/Police Station off Center Rd. I live close to you.

Tom

Tom,

The building is on my property in PA which is where I am living now. I still have my house in Franklin Township as well. As a matter of fact, I am planning to do some contract work this summer for Big & Wonderful and will be staying at the old house and getting it ready to sell in my spare time.

I am familiar with your area. I have had a lot of tire work done over the years at Van's. And you are correct, we are only a few miles apart.

I work at the same location, but it is no longer Big & Wonderful. We are now the "ex" again, but totally on our own.

The spin-off or split or whatever you want to call it took place well before I retired so I am aware of what happened. I had two 401Ks and stock in both companies and I assume you are the same.
