Check out the pics I got on one of my trail cams. The camera is mounted on the trunk of a peach tree and he is headed for the apples.

One of my nephews and I almost walked right into him a couple days before those photos were taken. We were walking back to the house from the orchard and heard something in the brush off the left side of the road so we stopped to see what was making all the commotion. He popped out less than twenty yards in front of us. He was just as surprised as we were and ran back down the hill away from us.

Several years ago I had a boss that shot a bear out of an apple tree at his mothers little farm. The bear had been raiding for awhile so they knew he would be back. The boss went to use the bathroom and saw the bear in the tree, outside, several yards away from the bathroom window. He grabbed his rifle and shot from inside the bathroom out the open bathroom window. He got the bear and made a nice bear skin rug. Problem was, he couldn't hear very well for several days as the gun shot was very loud inside the bathroom. He claimed to be the first person to shoot a bear in his mothers bathroom.....

Had that happened in Pennsylvania everything your boss did would have been illegal there.

I sometimes watch that game warden show. Most of them are in Maine. They have some tough hunting laws......

If the animal is on my property, I have the right to shoot it! I don't care about the laws in PA.

I am a hunter which means I take game on a somewhat regular basis. Just because I own the land where I do most of my hunting that does not give me or anyone else the right to disobey the state's game laws. In most states including PA wild animals are considered property of the state, not the landowner. If you disobey a game law, even on your own property, you are liable for whatever penalties apply which in many cases include loss of hunting privileges for several years. I enjoy hunting too much to take that risk.

Also, the penalties for illegally taking a big game "trophy" in PA such as a black bear include restitution to the state for the value of the trophy which, in the case of that particular animal, would be several thousand dollars.

Besides, that type of behavior just gives the anti-hunters more "ammunition".
