I haven't been around much lately because here's what I've been up to.

Finished the house last month and moved in.

And our son was born last week.

It's been a great year and we're thankful for the blessings we've had.

Hugh,

Nice house, and great looking kid. If you thought you were busy before, Your work has only begun..

It looks like you need to finish the lawn and landscaping, which is a major task in itself.

Also, those front stairs are wide enough to hold the Mormon Tabernacle choir for Christmas.

Thanks everyone!

I took a week of paternity and I've been busy enough. I can't imagine how it's going to get when I go back to work tomorrow.

Rich,

The landscaping is a spring project. I cut and laid about the same amount of sod in the back and that took two full days. Luckily, it only cost a $75 rental fee for a sod cutter and I can cut from one of my father in law's fields that has been taken over by centipede. What you see laid is about 1/10 of the lawn we'll have. I wanted trees throughout the backyard but our septic is huge and runs through the majority of the back. I'll be going to the farms over winter to get some magnolias, dogwood and crape myrtles. Then there's the shrubs, mulch, garden, culling some of the ugly pines and spindly hardwoods and eventually finish the pond that has been dug. I'm getting tired just thinking about it.

It's everything I've ever wanted, though!
