Boring beetle or bug?

I have 2 or 3 spots on my deck rails and screen door made from some kind of beetle? There is a pile of sawdust under each hole. Can't see anything in the hole. Anyone have a clue?

They might be "carpenter bees".

+1 on carpenter bee. Shoot some raid or bug killer in the hole and you will see it come out..then die.

There are bee traps online that are easy to make with scrap wood. They look for existing holes, so the traps provide that while you fill in all the holes you can find on your porch/deck. The bee enters the trap holes, sees light and goes for it. The light is a plastic bottle with soapy water in the bottom. Bee drowns.

+2 on the carpenter bees. Use Sevin and when they come out of the hole, they get it on them and when they clean themselves, they bee dead.
