Eddie, did you see last week where a woman went through Buna (50miles north of here) doing 150mph ? 20 miles later, she hit a vehicle at 120mph, killing 2 women and an unborn child. It was just about dark. No mention yet of drugs or alcohol.

I like the new Stingray, but not sure about the need for a car that will do 200MPH on US highways. It might be fun to drive in Germany, or on a closed circuit track, but American roads and drivers are not safe at any speed approaching 100MPH...much less 200MPH

I'm sure Justin Bieber has a couple of them to go along with his Lamborghni, Ferrari, Fiskar, and has probably hit 200MPH in all of them :banghead:

I did somewhere close to 170 mph at a NASCAR driving experience at Atlanta Motor Speedway several years ago. It was VERY fast, even on a wide-open track. I was surprised to learn that the car drive's itself into corners, and you have to keep pressure on the steering wheel to go straight on the straightaways.

I'll go ahead and say this next statement might be a lie so as not to incriminate myself, but I've done 140 mph in a BMW 335i I used to own, and I've done about 130 mph on a bike. Got those stupid whims behind me now.

Jackson,

In my younger days. I have done 155 in my '63 big block Ford, 135 in my '73 340 Cuda, 145 in my '94 stang, 123 on my '74 Harley Superglide. Last of all with the tune and limiter removed, 117 in my '04 Trac, I think it was still pulling, but I shut it down. I have pushed many other of my rides over 100. Those are the one's I remember.

Nowdays my quikness is all low end. Highway permiting, I drive 75 to 80.

ncstatewolfpacker,

I've done 140 in a Ferrari on the German Autobahn way back in 1968...when the top speed of any production car back then was about 160 MPH. The car would have gone faster but that was about the limits of my comfort level with other traffic even in the wee-hours of the morning. A friend and I were taking it to the port at Bremerhaven to ship back to the states for an army Colonel, and I was picking up my GTO

I have done 130 MPH in my 1965 GTO both in the US and on the Germany autobahn....but traffic was not as heavy back then as it is now. Way more traffic density than it was nearly 50 years ago.

Yep, ordered it after seeing one at a dealer (waiting for delivery). Took about 6 weeks and I haven't been able to pry her from it since. This is her third, and last, so she says.
