Anyone know a source for custom street signs? My neighbor who lives directly West (prevailing winds) of me has a boxer named Tyson. Cute, right? Well, whats not so cute is that any time the outside temp is anything over 20*F all I can smell when I walk outside is dog crap. I am seriously considering putting a sign in their driveway that says "Dog SH!t Lane".

Roger,

I know what you mean. I had the same problem, until the dog ran away....

Almost a year now. They havent' replaced the dog...

I also had the problem of the dog barking at the fence. On the side that my bedroom is on. Only 12ft between our houses'. The barking would echo between the houses'..

Never understood why a dog will bark. Just because another one barked 1/4 mile away.

Go to the dollar store and anomously, send them a water hose pressure nozzle. With a note saying, this is to wash down the dog poop.

From the members of, "Stinking Dog Crap lane"...:bwahaha:

Why is it that folks find the need to have one, two or three dogs? In my neighborhood they are barking constantly. Apparently the owners can't hear their own dogs barking. The owners walk their dogs (There is a leash law) to my yard to do their business. I put up a motion detector sprinkler to keep the dogs out of my yard. The owners get upset because they get squirted. I tell them to stay out of my yard and they won't get wet. The dumb ass owner can see the sprinkler but will still walk into my yard. The problem is as I see it....The dog is on one end of the leash and dumb ass is on the other end of the leash.....Who's smarter. The dog doesn't want crap in his yard so he gets dumb ass to bring him to my yard. If I happen to catch them then dumb ass gets to pick the crap up and carry it off with him.

The up side is I am retired so I have plenty of time to return the crap to the rightful owners.

We have neighbors whose dog barks constantly, every night. One night after 2 hours of straight barking, my wife said, "I can't believe they have no conscious about making their next door neighbors endure this!" She got out of bed and stormed outside!

A few minutes later, she was back in bed, but the barking was louder. I asked her what she did. "I put the dog in our back yard...let the neighbors see how it feels for a change!"

:bwahaha:

I have neighbors who has two large Labrador dogs, but only one barks a lot. I can't go onto my patio to BBQ without that dog standing at the fence and barking...the other dog just sits at the fence and whines??

I think they take their dogs in about 10:00pm so I have not made an issue of it, but I think I have come upon a plan to cure the problem.

I think I will make a recording of their dog barking, and some evening when I am gone for the night I will set up a speaker pointed at their house and play back their dog barking....all night long...on a week night when they have to go to work the next day. If that does not work, I will repeat it until they know how it feels to listen to a dog bark all night even when they bring their dogs in??

I won't get blamed because people know that I have a Chihuahua and my dog does not stay out at night.

Don't you guys have animal nuisance and waste laws? We would have a serious noise and sanitary problem with dogs, "pet" roosters, and ducks if not.

Rich,

I had the same problem. Had is the key word. Ordered two high frequency speakers for $8.00. Went to the pawn shop and got a cheap amp. Put the speaker In a foot of PVC, got a dog whistle app, and cranked it up to 50 watts. Dogs shut up quickly when you get the right frequency. Don't leave it on too long. Dogs will get a bit crazy.

Gavin,

Why punish the dog when it's their owners who should be punished? The dog is just being a dog. If the owner does not take responsibility for training and controlling their dog, it's the owner who is to blame...not the dog!

Gavin- I enjoy your warped sense of humor, but that's not remotely funny.

Gavin, good suggestion. Not that I would do it, but good suggestion. If left on your property it's not your fault if the neighbor's dog poison's himself.

Geez guys, what if YOUR pet escaped and ingested that "planted" poison. Not sure if you've ever witnessed it, very disturbing to see a slow and painful death.

I used to have a neighbor with a dog behind the fence barking every night and morning about 20 feet from my bedroom window. One night I resolved it by calling the neighbor at 2:30 in the morning and barking like crazy into the phone. When I hung up, I heard a bunch of yelling and cussing next door at the dog. Solved the problem- not sure what they did, but the dog didn't bark after that.

I agree that the platter of sponges and bowl of antifreeze would be better served to the owner of the dog, not the poor dog. I never understand why people have dogs and keep them in a cage or tied up all day. They would be better off without a dog.

Gavin,

Calling the neighbor at 2:30am sounds more like a sensible solution:grin: Unfortunately, I don't know their phone number. The other issue is that the dogs are brought in at night, about 10:00-10:30pm so they don't bark when I am trying to sleep. They bark during the day and evenings when they sense or see anybody in the neighboring yards or even walking down the street.

It's particularly annoying when I am trying to talk on the phone or watch TV...My chair is next to a window that is closest to their fence that faces the street...so the dog is barking 15-20 feet away.

I think I will just call the police and perhaps they will get the hint>

Gavin,

If you dial *67 before you dial the number, your phone number will be blocked...

If the poison is a slow painful death, lead poisoning is very swift and humane.

Problem solved.
