Well, she is officially gone. I'm sad to see her go but things were breaking faster that I had time to fix them. Nothing major but still a PITA. Traded her in for a new 2012 Nissan Frontier. I searched for a used Sport Trac but they are hard to find around here, in good shape and without a ton of miles.

Too bad Ford doesn't have a suitable replacement... I'm not going to roll around town in a Transit Connect and the F-150 is just too big for my needs.

Many of us in the same position. I'll be ready to upgrade my '05 soon. Looking around now, I can't see many Sport Trac candidates. Looks like I will also be buying a non-Ford replacement, maybe the new mid-size trucks from GM will be better this time around.

:banghead:

I come from western Michigan where I would rarely see a Sport Trac on the street.

I now live in South Florida and I see them all over the place. I bought a 2005 trac in November of 2012 with

78 k miles at a Ford dealer in Port Charlotte, Fl. Since it was a certified used truck, it came with a one year warrantee. There are plenty of Sport Tracs to be found down here.

I was looking for a 2010 with between 30-40k miles. I would have bought an Adrenalin for sure If I didn't have to travel across the country to get it...

When that day comes. If Ford cant help. I hope the 2wd Tacoma Sport Crew Cab is still around. Seen one in silver. About as close to my Gen1 Trac I have seen.

GM is replacing the Colorado with something more interesting. We'll have to wait and see if it's any better, quality wise.

Don't count on it.

Forbes- Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon

This lackluster duo of midsize pickups rate near the bottom in Consumer Reports? road tests, with staffers finding fault with their acceleration, engine noise, ride quality, braking, body flex and fit and finish. They were among the only 2012 vehicles to receive the dreaded ?black circle? for owner satisfaction, which means that less than half of all Colorado and Canyon buyers would ever consider obtaining another one. What?s more, CR cited them as being among the worst models in accident-avoidance performance, and they were called out for uncharacteristically low marks in crash tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
