I have a .rar file in my library that has a survey attached to it. Any one here know how to get rid of the survey so I can pull the file out? OR do it for me....?:haveabeer:

I think that I used FYZ zip manager

Ok, let me try to clarify a little.. I can unzip the file, no problem, but the file I want has some type of attachment to a survey scam. It basically says when you complete the survey the file will be unlocked with some type of password. I was just hopeing there would be a way to circumvent this action. Maybe I just say the heck with it. It goes to a. Progam I would like to have but don't "need"

Aloha LaRue,

I suggest that you don't mess with that. Often nasty things are attached when you open something. It may be malware or a virus or just want to sell you something or your "e" mail address. There are places like www.cnet.com that have programs that are lo cost or free and are reputable.

God bless Ed

LaRue,

I agree with Ed...unless you are very confident that the file does not contain any viruses, I would not attempt to open it. When someone is that secretive, I don't trust them.

Ed,, you are right, it was just worth a shot. I am abondoning this endeaver. Now all I need to do is find a good acrobat replacement program for MUCH less than an arm and a leg...

Richard,,, agree files are deleted new virus check running as we speak.

LaRue,

What are you needing to do that requires Acrobat? There are many other programs that will duplicate much of what Acrobat does in addition to creating PDF's. Let me know what you are wanting to do with Acrobat, and I look for a substitute program that is either free or low-cost.

Once in a while one of my contractors will send me a pdf file to fill out and send back. I'm just getting tired of scanning it and then sending it. no biggie. I did find a program called Bullzip that prints to pdf like a charm.... I don't really "need" acrobat,,, just "want":grin::driving::driving:

Go to Downloads.com and get the free Foxit Reader. Be sure to slowly install and uncheck all the toolbar and other nonsense add-on's. When it is complete, there is a feature known as Docu-sign. You will need to create a new account. The annotations of Foxit and the ability to digitally sign should take care of your needs.

I hope this helped

Downloaded it and Foxit Reader is pretty good but you still have to pay for the signature service. And I don't know if I want to give them my signature to store on their server. I know we sign stuff all the time, but I just don't trust that much. Thanks

LaRue,

Check out "PDFill" at www.pdfill.com or" Blueberry PDF Filler" at www.bbconsult.co.uk. Both claim to be be able to do pretty much what you want but the devil is always in the details..

They are both free or have a free version... The User interfaces can be a bit busy with a lot of Icons, but that's because they they claim they can do so much. Probably will take a little tinkering until you figure out how it works, but the price is right...

If the Free version does not do what you want, you might consider buying the full version for only $20.00

does the dancing banana mean that one of my suggested software programs worked for you? :bwahaha:
