    Trim Restoration

Welp, my ST has the faded grey cladding that everyone hates. At first, it didn't really bother me, but its starting to fade out more, and I'm getting really tired of rubbing restorer on it every few washes. I've used armorall with good results, but the longevity is next to none. I know I don't...

    Adrenalin Emblem

How about this decal? Much cheaper, and its available in chrome.

    1" to 1-1/2" lift Thoughts

Been pondering this some more over the last few days :) I think that you should go with the pucks. Heres why: 1. You don't have to change the factory suspension--no change in ride quality. Also no worries about the TT settling over time. 2. You have to replace your bushings anyway, so you could...

    Bad engine best option?

Id go with the truck if it has been well maintained. If the motors been taken care of, and you treat it right, it will probably go for over 100k more miles. Before you buy, make sure you listen for the timing "death rattle." Lots of folks try to dump their trucks when it first starts making this...

Not to get off topic, but did you get the polyurethane bushings? Those are much better than OEM. The previous owner of my truck replaced the body bushings 10 years ago with OEM. And guess what...now I'm gonna have to replace them again in a few years. Def going with the polyurethane this time tho.

    Help with timing rattle

It's odd that the noise occurs only after the engine runs. Usually timing noise is worse at starting, before oil pressure can build up. This guy on YouTube might be helpful. I think he has some videos on how to fix the timing issues without any special tools.

Most of the shackle failures I heard of were related to rust. They rust out bad quick. Of course it's just a matter of preventative maintenance. Some people also say the shackles put too much strain on the front of the leaf springs, wearing them out quicker. Not sure if that's true or not.

My truck had an awful rake when I bought it, so I did a 1.5 inch tt to level it. Looks much better, and I haven't noticed any difference in ride quality. I also plan to increase my tire size to a 265/75/r16 or 275/75/r16. The 265s are 31.65" and the 275s are 32.24". Not sure which will be best...

    Steering Wheel Emblem

I got tired of looking at the chipped emblem on my steering wheel, so I bought this overlay decal. Looks way better and it's pretty inexpensive. Should have done this sooner. You can customize the colors and it comes with two decals. I got gloss black on matte black and I think it looks kinda cool.

Yeah thats a good idea. It would look cleaner too. But if you ever need to replace the light bar, those splices are permanent. Just thinking out loud :) btw I added some pics to my last post

On my 1st gen, I was able to run the wire up from underneath the truck into the drivers side tail light. Then I just tapped into the reverse light wire with one of those quick splice wire connectors.

The fog lights are the regular halogen bulbs. I put these yellow covers on to change the color. To stick them on you have to take out the whole fog light assembly which is a pain. Looks cool when youre done tho, and supposedly increases visibility in fog. Heres a before/after without the lights on.

    Turn Signal Switch

Good idea. Another benefit of the upward angle is that you can reach it without taking your hand all the way off the wheel, if needed. Funny, i didnt know the turn signal switch and hazard light button were one piece.
