    Two way tail gate

OK, so I really like the Honda Ridgeline two way tailgate (drop or swing). Has anyone ever seen a kit or modified their Trac to have one? Or even a full size pickup of any brand? Thinking about the two way doors on old American station wagons (remember those?), I don’t recall any having the...

    limited slip (LSD)

Just for clarity, the IRS requires some special tools, but the internal gear sets are the same as a solid axle diff? Or does the IRS require a different part set for gears from the solid axle?

    limited slip (LSD)

Has anyone had experience with an LSD? I was contemplating TrueTrac Torsen in the rear only. I am looking primarily for adverse weather performance with some mild off road traction. However, it seems there is a frame member very close to the rear diff cover plate to support the IFS. How...

    Shock sizes - gen 2

That's where mine came from. The Monroe have different part numbers for the rear for Sport Trac and Explorer SUV. Can't recall for the others. I did look at doing a piecewise replacement because I wanted the Ranchos without a huge lift. The individual parts cost more than the struts before labor...

    Build & Price a 2019 Ford Ranger

Options they still need: Independent rear suspension Wide retracting rear glass On demand 4WD or AWD with low range I could live without the first one if it rides well enough.

    Additional Shock/Strut/Spring/Coil questions

The QuickStruts did raise my ride slightly. And although I don't have a reference to compare against, I am believe the old (original) springs were starting to sag slightly, especially with loads in the the truck. I wonder if this may also be the case with the Moog struts tasing the ride also...

    transfer rims 2004 to 2010?

Going to larger (more positive) is especially precarious, because it places the back of the wheel further in board, running the risk of rubbing suspension components etc. Going smaller (more negative) pushes the wheel and rim away from suspension, and possibly out of the plane of the wheel...

    transfer rims 2004 to 2010?

I looked up both on wheel-size.com. Both list the same base specs for the 235/70R16 wheels, except that the offset is 44mm for the 2010 and 12mm for the 2004. I am no wheel expert, but believe that means the 2004 rims will protrude out 32 mm (about 1 1/4") further than the 2010 factory rims...

    Shock sizes - gen 2

I went with the Monroe Reflex Quick-Struts. I did not want the higher lift of the other solutions (Rancho Quick-Lift) and buying the RS5000s with springs and mounts, etc separately was going to be 30-50% more. Monroe part #s 271124, 27115 (F/R) and are specific to the Sport Trac V8 and different...

Third brake light wire or CHMSL wire ???

I was having issues with trailer lights recently and when I stuck my head underneath, there is a spare/extra/backup 4-wire trailer plug under the bumper behind the rear facing 7 wire plug. Could you plug into that for brake lights? That's an '07 with tow package.

    Shock sizes - gen 2

1” all around is what Rancho claims for QuickLift (V8). Help with loading is great since one goal is to reduce rear sag and increase control with towing a heavier trailer. A weight distribution hitch may also be in my future. I definitely don’t want any softer. Firmer than stock is good to a...

    Shock sizes - gen 2

It’s looking more like Monroe QuickStruts as the best option. It might be heresy, but I don’t want the lift from the Rancho QuickLifts and the price of all the extra parts adds up, since I was planning replacing all the bits. And time is worth something also.

    Shock sizes - gen 2

So my '07 Trac has 130k miles and I'm thinking the suspension needs some updates. Its fine with no load, but heavier trailers and loads are giving more sag than I am happy with. I was thinking the following: Rancho RS5000 front Rancho RS9000XL rear Moog constant rate springs Possibly also add a...

Long distance purchase ... Would you / have you?

Based on the mixed results, an internet purchase sounds like it's a crap shoot. That is what I figured, so I'll should act accordingly. Here's to becoming a contributing member of mysporttrac soon.

Long distance purchase ... Would you / have you?

I am in the market a new to me Gen 2 ST. Most of the vehicles that meet my criteria are at least 200 miles away. Does anyone have any thoughts or wisdom on purchasing blind over long distance and having the vehicle shipped? I just don't want spend upwards of $20k and turn around and buy...
