How many ground straps are there? I had the main ground strap replaced last year - it was falling apart.
I see the smaller broken straps on either side of the vehicle, from body to frame.
Are there others? Is there a definitive list somewhere?
I saw some mentions of one under the center of the...
Ok, more evidence in this front. I had the truck in for service over the past week, and they didn't see the problem present itself. But the clock was reset, which means the battery was disconnected. This is the second time that has happened. All signs point to electrical. I expect the symptoms...
Oh, I hear you! Can you believe that was a modified '96 Ford Ranger? I've looked at that concept vehicle from a lot of different angles, and there is some weird stuff going on, especially with the fold-down rear door on the cab. I have a feeling that vehicle was just barely held together with...
I'm at the "little things" phase on my '03 XLT. It's in the shop for a bouncing speedometer, loose gear selector indicator, turn signal resistance during lane changes, wheel camber fix, and seatbelt retraction.
I'm super curious about what you come up with for the side mirrors. I have a project...
Man, if nobody claims that bed extender, I could probably figure out a way to pick it up. I'd have to take the ferry from Muskegon, but I think it is doable.
Performance Replicas/PR185/16.0X8/MATTE BLACK (5x)
BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 31.8"x9.3"
Lug nuts (1/2" Thread Bulge Acorn 1.38" Lug Nuts Black 13/16" Hex)
I bought the wheels from Tires / Wheels Direct, and although they could only source two of them (the Matte Black), they worked with...
I finally got new wheels and tires for my '03 XLT. This has been a long time coming - after new suspension, front end, leveling kit, body mounts.
This is by no means it's final form, but it is finally starting to align with my vision for it.
This is exactly the information I was looking for! Thank you!
Did you need to use wheel spacers for your 35s? I'm planning on 33x9.50, hopefully without spacers.
Thanks for confirming that. I poked through the manual, and found that it is called the "rear bumper hitch plate."
I tracked down the part number:
Ford 1L5Z-17D826-AA Kit - Stabilizer - Trailer Hitch
2001-2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
Criminy. $400 - $500. This just turned into a $1,000...
I posted some new photos from underneath the bumper. There is literally nothing supporting the cover in that area.
Am I missing a part under there?
Also, just to note: the 01-03 model year rear bumpers are incompatible with parts from 04-05.
Oh, heck yes! I just had this done on my 2003 XLT 4WD a few weeks ago.
What year Sport Trac? 2WD or 4WD?
Did you do any extra prep work like suspension maintenance prior to installing the kit?
Did you run into any problems?
How much lift did you add to the front?
Did you have any trouble...
I don't see anything about a Neutral Tow Kit in the 2003 Workshop Manual nor the 2003 Electrical Wiring Manual. The wiring guide has one page with a "Neutral Tow Indicator" wiring diagram, but that is all I could find.
