What did you do to your Sport Trac today?

Look for a chisel with the rubber hand protector on it. Ask me why I suggest this :)

What did you do to your Sport Trac today?

You’ll need a big hammer and chisel. If that doesn’t work, get a bigger hammer and bigger chisel. Still not moving? Apply some heat around the outside of the housing. It will come off but sometimes it takes a LOT of force.

    Replaced Control Arms, now this..

Hey Chris, I know you said you replaced the outer tie rods but that tie rod end does not appear to be in very good shape.

That’s cool - thanks Powly! Pat’s Driveline is an hour from my place.

    Rear Carrier Bearing

Thanks for your response, dvd. I do understand the functional differences between 4WD and AWD. When I asked about the difference between the 4WD and the AWD, what I meant was “is there a difference in the driveshafts?” Reason I ask is that if I decide to replace the entire driveshaft, Dorman has...

    Rear Carrier Bearing

I see my carrier bearing rubber is shot now (2009 Adrenalin AWD). What's the deal with replacing this bearing? Is it really "unserviceable" on the AWD? Why is it a "nightmare" on the 4WD? Is the 4WD different than the AWD? I'm not noticing any drivability issues, but it definitely needs to replaced.

    Strut assemblies

Hey Wolfe, I've encountered the same problem on my '09 Adrenalin. Drivers side spring broke. I'm going down the same path as you, planning to buy the Monroe 271124s for the front. Did you end up installing the 271125s in the back? Did this level the ride out? Thanks, Len

2010 Sport Trac AWD Drivetrain Noise

Hey Mark, I have a 2009 Adrenalin AWD with 375,000 km on it. Owned it since new. At about 100,000 km, it started making a weird sound on acceleration after it warmed up. Kind of a howling, sometimes clattering noise that made me think the trannie was piling up. Embarrassing going through the...

    Battery replacement issues

I don’t have Sirius in my 2009 so I can’t comment on that, but I do have a TPMS fault that came in about a year ago. I’ve owned the truck since new and have never replaced the sensors, so I suspect, after that many years, the batteries in these sensors are dying. They’re on my list to replace...

A great example of what 20+ years of care and respect can do for these vehicles. Beautiful Trac, Ron!

Very cool! Will be great to see them on your truck - pics please! Were you able to get new centers from Ford?

05 Gauge LED light flickering issues

Replaced the cluster bulbs on my ‘09 with LEDs a few years ago. Since then, I’ve had the cluster out at least six times to replace flickering bulbs. Not a fan of LEDs, that’s for sure.

    New to this forum

The horn on my 2003 quit a few years ago. Found the connectors right at the horn were badly corroded. One option was to replace the entire assembly, but I was able to repair them with a vinegar bath, elbow grease, and solder. Still working to this day.

What causes the engine to lurch?

Are you in a parking lot with speed bumps? :)

    Adrenalin Tires

If you change the tire size from original specs, your speedometer accuracy will be affected. Going from the original 255/50R20 the STA came with to the 265/50R20s that I've been using only increased the overall diameter of the tire from 30.0" to 30.4". Didn't have a noticeable affect on the...
