I have changed it about 15000 miles ago. It is darker than I would expect it to be. I don't see any cv boot tears or leaks.

After the truck warms up, if I am going slow and turn right, sometimes I get a slight low whine, sometimes it's a higher whine, and sometimes it feels like the 4wd is engaged and I turned the wheel too much type of bucking. I am guessing cv joing, but I cannot be sure. Thoughts?

i get a metal hook (an old skate key) and yank the wire in the exposed lock sections. you could use anything like needlenose. that will pop the lock for the time being.
