I've got 4.88s in mine and no grinding was needed. As for gas mileage, I've never really gotten great mileage out of my truck...maybe 13-14 mpg with the stock 4.10s and about 12 with the 4.88s. With the brakes, I'm currently running a 285/75/16 tire (just under a 33" tire) with the stock...

After just a couple of days with my new 4.88 gears, my factory limited slip differential decided to give up and destroy itself and my new gears. Luckily, the gears are being replaced for free. The shop's putting in an open differential that they had in the shop for the time being, but I'm hoping...

I'm using Superlift leafsprings. They actually had two different sets at one time - 2.5" and I believe 4". Don't know if they still do. I went with the 2.5" to level out the truck and take a little off the driveshaft angle. Works great but the ride is pretty rough.

I get anywhere from 10 to 12.5 mpg with mostly city driving. Highway driving gets me 14 to 15 mpg.

I used to check this site out every once and a while. The only thing I could remember seeing on there was this: :bwahaha:

You know what...the red leds on mine are doing that as well. I'm going to check the wiring this weekend and see if that fixes it.
