I traded my 2001 Trac 4x4 in Yesterday for a 2014 Edge. She was a good truck I will miss her :*( I needed something that got better gas millage. The Dealership gave me 4k for her, not bad according to NADA and KBB. Thank you all for the support over the years and keep on trackin !
Todd I have not done anything to the battery nor jumped anyone. She just quit with no warning. I have since put the new module in and everything is back to normal. I notice that as soon as I cranked here over the 4x4 lights lit up. :) Was an easy 5 min replacement took longer to find my tools...
My transfer case control module bit the dust yesterday. :( Went to put my 01 Trac w/107k miles in 4H and nothing tried 4L and nothing. The dash lights don't light up when I turn the key on and I don't even hear the module click anymore. After doing a lot of looking online and on this form I see...
It gets worse the faster I drive 70-80mph. With a TSB out for this problem that pretty much confirms my theory. Thanks everyone for the help. This is why I love this site.
Has anyone had vibration problems with a Gen 1 Trac 4x4? I just had my new tires rebalanced thinking it was that. The tire shop said the tires are spot on, only one was out .25oz, but I'm still getting a vibration at 65+ MPH. It feels like it's coming from the rear of the truck. I can feel it in...
Just installed Rancho S5000 extended length shocks on my 01 ST. I recently did a 2" TT with new keys, shackles and 32" tires. With the Monroe shocks it was a bouncy ride. I'd hit a bump and it felt like I was in a car with hydraulics. Now that I have the Rancho shocks I think she rides better...
I found what was making the rubbing sound when turning left. The right rear inner fender was rubbing when the body rolled/twisted. With a little trimming with the cut off wheel were all good. javascript:insertAtCursor(document.forms['MESSAGEFORM'].MESSAGE,'')
Just added a 2" TT (new keys) and shackles with 265/75R16. They do rub the front sway-bar on hard left/right turns. I guess I can live with it or get wheel spacers.. It does ride rougher has a bounce to it the new tire did help the ride a little. She looks so much better up in the air. Factory...
So the tool to install new torsion keys is $150 the one on the right. Or you can buy a $1.00 U-bolt and this $15 timing gear puller from Autozone and have the some tool.

Has anyone had luck with the Handkook dynapro ATM tires? I got a quote today for a 265/75R16 set of 4 with the rebate Hankook has going on for $550.00 mounted & balanced. I'm going to be doing a 2" TT & shackles this week so I can fit the 265/75 on :) Pics to come.
I am wanting to do a torsion key a rear shackle lift on my 01 Trac 4x4. I'm going to put 32s on the Trac. Does anyone have a recommendation on where to buy or what to get. I know you get what you pay for so not looking for a cheap kit. I've been looking on E-bay looks like there are a couple of...
Going to be changing my A/C hose assembly soon, on my 01 trac. Just ordered the hose assembly off Rockauto for $45.00. Got an estimate from a garage in town for $450.00 to replace the hose and refill the system. I'll do the hose myself and find a garage that can pull a vacuum and fill with 134A...
