Hi all,
My sister in law has an 03 ST and recently has been having starting issues. she tells me that occasionally the truck won't start and she has to hit the fuel pump reset then it starts and runs just fine. she was told that this happens when she hits a bump in the road then parks the truck then tries to start it again the pump needs reset. Just looking for ideas on what could really be going on since the truck runs fine until she turns it off but then won't start unless the reset is pressed then runs fine again. I have replaced the filter already.

Thanks.

Check the wireing on the fuel pump reset module. Some have been known to overheat. If there is no apparent wire damage. I would replace the module....

I'll check that but just to be clear, you are talking about the pushbutton under the dash correct? Or is there another module I should be checking?

Thanks.

If the inertia switch connector appears OK, use a paper clip as a jumper to bypass the switch.

If that solves the starting issue replace the switch. (aka- fuel pump shutoff switch in the owners manual)
