I got my 2005 FX4 brand new. I paid less then $25,000 for it back then. I waited all these years for Ford to bring the Ranger back. I did a build and price the other day. Just under $44,000 for the four door FX4 package. That's without all the fancy electric stuff that fails after a few years. Not a chance in heck I will pay that kind of money for a Ranger. Even the F 150 is a great truck. But IMO truck prices have gone nuts.

So I just gone a fully loaded 2010 Sport Trac Limited with the 4.6. Less then 59,000 miles on it. I have a funny feeling the used market for Rangers and Sport Trac may go up with the new Ford pricing.

But IMO truck prices have gone nuts.

Nuts' is a mild word. I also expect the used market to go wild. The economy maybe getting better, but not everyone can aford that kind of debt. I have $$ despite fixed retirement income. I just refuse to pay overpricing. When Im not in need of. Im comfortable with older and less.

I just priced mine out. $45,700 for the Lariat, 501A option, FX4 suspension, tow package, tonneau, etc. Still driving my dad's old Orange Frost 2007 ST with 160k miles on it. Put a new Jasper engine in it at 132k miles and new front hubs, but that's about it. I'd likely add the Ranger to the ST in the garage, and trade in a 2015 Dodge Dart GT.
