Whats the deal with sport tracs and stabilizer links? Every sport trac I have had has eaten stabilizer links like crazy. The 2001, 2007 and 2010 I have now. I was just under there changing the o2 sensors and noticed that the drivers side stabilizer link was shot and the passenger side wasn't far behind. I had already changed out the originals with much better ones. Why does the sport tracs destroy them so easily?

Any recommendations on which to replace them with?

Thanks!

I replaced all my link bushings with the black poly's. I cant find the site I ordered them from. Havent had any more deteretion. On my '04...
I will keep searching

the Gen 2 uses a different design.... USE the bulging design, NOT the flat bushings and DO NOT overtighten, they will smoke them in a week.

Been running mine since the lift no issues.... to each is own....

No problems with the 2009 but the 2001 is on it's 4th set and even that one is knocking again. Tempted to just use steel spacers
instead of bushings

Thanks Eddie, I just have to find them in Canada. (haven't looked yet)
I offered to get the wife something new this year, she told me she would prefer if I fix the 01 up a bit instead. She hates new cars, nothing appeals to her. I may end up doing all polyurethane upgrade on the entire front end.

Robert,, I hear ya and agree with your wife. I intend to keep my '04 until it falls apart and cant get parts..LOL.
Until that day comes my '04 is perfect for me. I dont see anything on the market I like.
Even my Harley is a 2012. Despite some upgrades on the new ones, I will keep it for awhile also. Next month my Harley gets', a camshaft and roller rocker upgrades. I have it ready for it already with performance hydralic roller lifters and adjustable pushrods...

"Gina" and India rubber bushings do not last at all. I've replaced links that only lasted a few weeks in my Dodge, complained and they just sent out the same soon-to-fail units. luckily I saved the original factory rubber bushings and keep re-using them as they don'y seem to be wearing out. You may be able to source just the rubber bushings thru McMaster Carr or other industrial supplier cheaper than the aftermarket polyurethane units.
